Minnesota Twins kick off their SW FL Baseball Clinics with the BGCLC

Special thanks to the Minnesota Twins for taking time out of their busy schedules to give back to the community and host a baseball clinic for our members. On Saturday, January 22, approximately 60 youth showed up a Hammond Stadium ready to learn about baseball.

“As part of our mission at the Twins, we want to get as many youths involved in experiencing the game and hopefully this gives everyone a new perspective on how much fun the game can be when having a day on the field with players and coaches from the Twins organization”, says Mark Weber, MT Manager, Florida Business Operations.

The kids had the opportunity to learn from MLB players and coaches about all aspects of the game at this clinic. They set up Pitching, Catching and Batting stations for youth to learn and receive hands on training.  Afterwards, the Twins surprised all of the youth with a Minnesota Twin baseball that was then signed by all of the players.

“It was a great experience for our kids and we want to thank the Minnesota Twins for this opportunity. It was inspiring to see the players interacting and engaging with our youth and the kids were thrilled to be able to participate and learn from them.”, said Denise Gergley, CEO of the Boys & Girls Clubs of Lee County.
