Boys & Girls Clubs of Lee County is hosting an open house on Nov. 14 to showcase after-school activities available at its new Park Meadows Community Club in Fort Myers.
The club’s After-school Program offers homework help, recreational activities, arts programs, prevention classes and healthy snacks. Transportation for most public-school students is available through the School District of Lee County.
To help families impacted by Hurricane Ian, Boys & Girls Clubs is waiving the monthly fee for members who attend Sanibel School and Fort Myers Beach Elementary, two schools currently displaced because of Hurricane Ian.
“Many students are attending schools in other parts of Lee County or living in temporary housing and finding a quality after-school program midyear can be difficult,” said Denise Gergley, CEO of Boys & Girls Clubs of Lee County. “Our Park Meadows location has capacity to accept additional members, so we want to make sure families know this option is available.”
Scholarship assistance is available for families living throughout Lee County.
The open house will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. on Monday, Nov. 14 at the Park Meadows Community Club, 1900 Park Meadows Drive in Fort Myers. Families can register for the After-school Program during the open house or by visiting BGClee.org.
